COAS URGES NMS STUDENTS TO EMBRACE DISCIPLINE, EXCELLENCE, PLEDGES BETTER LEARNING FACILITIES

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has tasked students of the Nigerian Military School, Zaria, to uphold discipline, academic excellence and sustained focus, describing the institution as a critical foundation for shaping future national leaders.

In a statement released by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Army Chief delivered the charge during an official visit to the school on Saturday, where he engaged the students and reviewed learning facilities.

Lieutenant General Shaibu explained that while some students would progress to advanced military training and eventual commissioning as officers, others would transition to tertiary institutions, where they are expected to stand out through the values and discipline instilled at NMS.

He emphasized that the unique training and leadership culture of the school would distinguish its’ graduates in any future endeavor, noting that NMS would remain a lifelong reference point in their personal and professional development.

The Army Chief assured the students of sustained investments by the Nigerian Army to enhance teaching methods, improve classroom aesthetics and deploy modern educational technology aimed at creating a world class learning environment.

He also encouraged the students to sustain the school’s tradition of academic excellence, particularly its’ record of strong performances in inter-school quiz competitions, stressing the importance of diligence, commitment and effective study habits.

According to him, the students emerged through a rigorous selection process and have been placed in an enabling environment designed to support success, urging them to fully maximize the opportunity.

Lieutenant General Shaibu commended the officers, soldiers and instructors of the Nigerian Military School for their dedication to mentoring and shaping the students, describing them as key custodians of Nigeria’s future leadership.

He concluded by reaffirming the Nigerian Army’s commitment to maintaining high standards in military education and training, while congratulating the entire NMS community for their collective efforts.
