Putting smiles on the faces of the vulnerable in the society particularly, widows and the elderly during festivities is key.
This is the submission of the Chairman, Comfort in Light Foundation, Mrs. Kikelomo Ifekoya whose organization gave food items worth more than a million naira to Widows and the elderly in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State in the spirit of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Addressing the beneficiaries at the event held in Egbeda Lagos, Mrs Ifekoya said it was always sad to note that some widows and the elderly in the society often celebrate the Yuletide without having what to eat or wear for the joyous season.
She stressed that since these set of people are part of the society, it is ideal for good spirited individuals and organizations to support governments in taking care of them in any little way possible.
Mrs. Ifekoya said it was in the spirit of caring for the vulnerable in the society that prompted her NGO with support from other well meaning individuals in Nigeria and in the diaspora to give food items worth more than a million naira to Widows and elderly in Idimu- Egbeda area of Lagos State.
She also announced that her NGO visited Compassion Orphanage Home, Lasu- Igando Road on December 1, 2025 to donate food items like rice, Garri, noodles, toiletries and a live goat to the children in the home in the spirit of Christmas.
Meanwhile, Some of the widows and elderly that received food items at the event thanked the organizers of the programme for extending hands of compassion to them in the spirit of the Yuletide.
They however, called on other well meaning Nigerians and corporate organizations to borrow a leaf from Comfort in Light Foundation in taking care of the less privileged in the society.
The beneficiaries, who were more than two hundred were later treated to light refreshments amidst music renditions.
