The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Lagos Branch, marked its ACPN Day of the 2025 PSN Lagos Scientific Week on Monday, August 25, 2025, with a unique collaboration that brought together healthcare professionals and the Nigeria Police Force at the Area M Police Command, Lagos State.
Themed “Community Pharmacists Partnering with the NPF for Equitable Access to Health towards UHC,” the event underscored the role of pharmacists in advancing universal health coverage (UHC) while also recognizing the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) as a vital partner in community wellbeing.
The program featured health talks, medical checks, and healthcare support for officers and staff of the command. Designed to promote wellness and preventive care, the outreach emphasized how access to everyday medical guidance can strengthen both individual health and workplace productivity.
ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda, Area Commander, Area M Police Command, welcomed the initiative and highlighted the value of cross-sector partnerships in creating healthier and safer communities. She commended ACPN for extending their professional expertise to the police, describing it as a timely intervention for officers who often serve under intense and challenging conditions.
The event also included a Master Security Training Programme, organized by ACP Abaniwonda for officers and men of the Anti-Cultism Squad. This segment reinforced the dual importance of health and security; two critical foundations for community stability and progress.
By combining healthcare outreach with security training, the ACPN Day at Area M Police Command served as a model for how institutions can work together to build stronger, healthier, safer societies.
