At the 2022 National Honours Award investiture event in Abuja on Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed the degree of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on prominent PanAfrican businessman and social entrepreneur Ichie Nnaeto Orazulike.
Orazulike’s selfless service to humanity and contributions to the development of the nation have earned him this honor.
President Buhari mentioned regular and meaningful participation in local and/or national development in his remarks at the award event.

He also noted outstanding accomplishments in any area of competence where the person’s work has significantly aided in achieving goals and objectives at the federal level.
Orazulike, who is a Non-Executive Director of Ecobank Nigeria having been appionted in April 2022, is the founder and Group Managing Director of Genesis Group, a proudly Nigerian conglomerate with interests in restaurants, cinemas, hotels, food production and oil and gas services and production.
He is a graduate of the University of Nigeria, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree and an alumnus of Havard Business School Executive Training Programme.
He was awarded the prestigious Honorary Doctor of Science degree by the University of Port Harcourt in 2015.

In 2021, he won the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) 60-anniversary awards for his examplary role in the entertainment and hospitality sector.
He has won many awards at national and state levels.
