CP DELTA STATE SIGNALS COMMUNITY-FOCUSED POLICING ON ASABA TOUR

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, has begun a statewide familiarization tour of police formations and key institutions, starting with Asaba, in a move aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness and reinforcing police–community relations. The tour underscores the new police chief’s focus on assessing field operations, engaging stakeholders and setting priorities for intelligence-led and people-centred policing across the state.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, Asaba, SP Bright Edafe, the Command said the Commissioner’s visit to the Asaba Area Command included meetings with the Area Commander, ACP Alex Udeze, senior officers, Divisional Police Officers, and rank and file personnel. According to the statement, CP Adesola charged officers to uphold professionalism, discipline and proactiveness, while emphasizing intelligence-driven policing, respect for human rights and improved service delivery as central pillars of his administration.

During the visit, the Commissioner also engaged with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, youth representatives, transport unions and members of the business community, calling for sustained collaboration in addressing security challenges in the Asaba metropolis.

The tour further took him to the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, where he was received by His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof.) Epiphany Chibuogu Azinge and members of the traditional council. Police officials said the Commissioner expressed appreciation for the support of traditional institutions and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to partnership in promoting peace, public safety and confidence in policing, noting that the familiarization tour would continue across other Area Commands in Delta State.
