In continuation of his familiarization tour across the various Area Commands under the Lagos State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, visited the Area ‘M’ Police Command, Idimu, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening operational efficiency and community collaboration across the state.
Represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, DC Salihu Khan, alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, DC Dayo Akinbisehin, the CP commended the officers and men of Area ‘M’ for their dedication, professionalism and consistent efforts in ensuring peace and security within their jurisdiction. He emphasized the command’s strategic importance to Lagos State’s security architecture and assured that more support, logistics and training opportunities would be extended to enhance their operational effectiveness.
The Area Commander, ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police for his encouragement and steady backing. She lauded her officers and men for their commitment to duty and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of traditional rulers and community leaders who have continued to make policing a shared responsibility and a service beneficial to all.
The event, which attracted traditional rulers and representatives of sister security agencies, underscored the unity of purpose in maintaining safety and harmony across Lagos communities. The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a life sized portrait of the Commissioner of Police and an award of appreciation from the Area ‘M’ Command to mark the memorable occasion.
