CP Yemi John Oyeniyi has taken over as the 24th Commissioner of Police of Delta State Police Command, succeeding CP Aina Adesola. Born on March 5, 1969, in Kwara State, Oyeniyi brings over two decades of experience in administration, criminal investigation, and law enforcement to his new role.

A graduate of Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Oyeniyi has served in various capacities, including Officer-in-Charge of General Investigation (SCID) in Akwa Ibom State Police Command and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) in Ondo State Police Command. He has also participated in peacekeeping missions in Sudan and served as Commissioner of Police/Deputy Head of Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja.

Oyeniyi’s professional memberships include Associate, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (acipm), Nigeria, and Member, National Institute of Police Studies (mnips), Nigeria. His skills encompass strategic leadership, analytical thinking, and conflict management.
