Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has promised to employ all first-class graduates of Kano State University of Science and Technology, Wudil, which has been renamed after him.

Prof. Shehu Musa, the university’s Vice Chancellor, made the announcement on Friday in Kano while briefing reporters on the institution’s renaming after its Chancellor, Aliko Dangote.

Mr Musa stated that Mr Dangote had promised all first and second class upper division graduates of the institution automatic employment.
The vice chancellor also stated that Mr Dangote had already requested that the university management forward a list of all first-class graduates for automatic employment.
According to him, Mr Dangote, the university’s chancellor, has built two hostels with 500 rooms each for male and female students.

Mr Musa also stated that Mr Dangote had pledged to hire 15 foreign professors and build housing for them as part of his contributions to the university.

He stated that the 15 professors had been interviewed and are awaiting the chancellor’s final approval.

Mr Musa described the institution’s renaming after Mr Dangote, Africa’s richest man, as appropriate and a welcome development.

The vice chancellor urged wealthy individuals to follow Dangote’s lead and invest in education for the sake of the country.
He thanked Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, the state Executive Council, and members of the state Assembly for the university’s wonderful development and support.
