The Delta State Police Command has made notable strides in combating crime, arresting two suspected armed robbers and motorcycle snatchers, and recovering suspected vandalized items and a vehicle.

In a statement released on April 2, 2026, the Command announced the arrest of Julius Godday, 31, and Mzemeke Peter, 28, who were intercepted by operatives of Agbor Division while riding a motorcycle. A search on them led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size double-barrelled gun loaded with two live cartridges. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are members of the Eiye confraternity and are linked to several motorcycle snatching incidents in the area.

In another operation, a Toyota Sienna bus conveying suspected vandalized items, including iron cuts and a gas cylinder, was recovered by Sapele Division operatives. The hoodlums abandoned the vehicle and fled upon sighting the police.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, commended the operatives and urged residents to support the police with credible information, assuring that the Command will sustain its efforts in combating crime across the State.
