As part of the 2026 National Police Week celebrations, the Delta State Police Command has presented cheques totaling ₦16,679,749.92 to families of deceased police officers. The event, held on April 2, 2026, marks the culmination of the week-long activities in the State, preceding the grand finale scheduled for Abuja.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, described the occasion as solemn and significant, highlighting the Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families. He assured beneficiaries that the Nigeria Police Force stands with them and will continue to offer support.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, with Ahanuwa Raphael, speaking on behalf of the others, thanking the Inspector-General of Police and the Delta State Police Command for the support. The Commissioner encouraged beneficiaries to use the support wisely, acknowledging the invaluable sacrifices of the fallen officers.
