The Delta State Police Command has foiled a planned cult attack and dismantled armed robbery networks in Warri, Ughelli, and Sapele, leading to the arrest of suspects and the recovery of firearms and ammunition.

In a series of operations, the police recovered one cut-to-size locally fabricated double-barrel gun, one pump-action gun, one fabricated Beretta pistol, and twenty-seven live cartridges.

Three suspects were arrested in connection with the cult attack, and they confessed to being members of the Black Axe Confraternity. Other suspects were also arrested for armed robbery, and investigations are ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, assured the public that the safety and security of law-abiding citizens remain the Command’s top priority, and the police will continue to dismantle cult groups and armed robbery syndicates operating within the state.
