Oluwadamilare Adebowale Bashir, has called on Lagos residents to embrace peace, love and unity, urging them to set aside religious, political and ideological differences in the interest of national progress.
Bashir made the appeal during Eid prayers, where he emphasized the importance of communal harmony and mutual responsibility among citizens. He encouraged Lagosians to act as their brothers’ keepers and to sustain the spirit of compassion and generosity demonstrated during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to him, the values of love, tolerance and selflessness cultivated during Ramadan should extend beyond the festive period and become a consistent part of daily life. He noted that fostering such values is critical to strengthening social cohesion and promoting long-term national development.
He further urged Lagosians to continue praying for the State and Nigeria at large for stability and growth, stressing the need for goodwill and collective responsibility in navigating current challenges.
Bashir also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent diplomatic engagement with the British Royal Family, describing it as a step toward strengthening international relations. He praised the administration’s ongoing economic reforms, expressing confidence that they are aimed at improving the nation’s economic outlook.
He called on Lagosians to support the president’s efforts, urging them to view the reforms as part of a broader agenda for national development and collective prosperity.
Reaffirming his political stance, Bashir expressed unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he remains committed to the administration’s policies and long-term vision. He also voiced optimism about Tinubu’s political future, noting that continued public support could pave the way for his return as president in 2027, which he believes would ensure continuity in governance and sustained economic reforms.
