Ejike Eze, the head of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu, has denounced Lucky Idoko’s slaying as a youth leader.
Idoko was followed and shot on Saturday in his village of Unadu, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.
Idoko’s passing was described as a setback for the party in a statement by Eze, the APC senatorial candidate for Enugu North.

“This entire act should be condemned. Nothing could ever excuse this violent and cowardly behavior.
I still haven’t recovered from the psychological trauma of Idoko’s gruesome murder on Saturday, he said.
The flagbearer said that those who killed their siblings while they were young will eventually suffer a similar fate.
Eze appealed to APC members and supporters to remain calm, peaceful, law-abiding and prayerful.
He charged security agencies to ensure that perpetrators of the crime are arrested and prosecuted.

“May the merciful God that we serve grant Idoko eternal rest”, the statement added.
Daniel Ndukwe, Police Public Relation Officer, confirmed the killing of the youth leader.
The spokesperson announced that the command had launched an investigation and will keep the public informed.
