The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a N260 billion variation order in respect of repair works on the East West road project affected during the recent flooding occurrences in the Niger Delta.

 

Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande revealed this to State House Correspondents at the end of the council’s meeting chaired by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Works and Housing also got approval for the award of contracts for urgent repairs and special general maintenance of some roads nationwide in the sum of N40 billion, with the completion time of 36 months.

Also addressing the correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Mohammad Abubakar assured that there would be no shortage of food in the country amid devastation of floods across the country.
