The Nigerian News, a media organization based in the UK, has nominated Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and his counterpart from Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, for prestigious awards.

The group will honor the governor with the “Man of the Year” award for his enormous contributions to the APC’s leadership and governance (APC).

According to a statement from the management of The Nigerian News signed by Toby Prince, Governor Buni won over the 10-person committee with his outstanding leadership in managing the dual role of governance at the state and federal levels.

“As Chairman, Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, of the All Progressives Congress, Governor Buni saved the party from apparent collapse.” That the ruling party still exists and is getting stronger ahead of next year’s poll is the product of his ingenuity.

“The governor blended the talents and political sagacity of members of the caretaker committee to successfully revive the APC which is now on high turbocharger as the leading, largest, and winning political party in Nigeria,” Tobi Prince said.

The media outfit described Buni as “a political bridge-builder” who “oozed integrity, accountability, creativity, honesty, and courage in the face of adversity.”

“But more importantly, Buni’s impact has been better felt by his people in areas of infrastructure, human capital development, security, and many others.
“He has proven to be responsive to the needs of the citizens, paying special attention to healthcare delivery, education, agricultural production, and infrastructure.

In addition to following the particular agenda of resettlement, reconstruction, and rehabilitation (R3) of individuals affected by the insurgency, he set out his goals by declaring a state of emergency for basic and secondary education. He has demonstrated that effective leadership is possible, according to The Nigerian News.
