On Sunday, three people were reportedly killed by Fulani herdsmen in the Ngbea community of Nyiev Council Ward, Guma Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benue State Command, confirmed the incident, saying, “Three people were killed in an attack at Guma.” The bodies have been transferred to Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi, where an investigation is underway.

However, speaking in Makurdi on Monday, a local identified as Lorhemen explained that the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday.
“They were Fulani herders, they came in their numbers and attacked our village around 4pm yesterday,” he said of the incident (Sunday).
During the attack, “three people were killed,” he said.
