The House of Redemption International Church has held a solemn yet uplifting memorial service to mark the one-year remembrance of its late founder, Arch. Bishop (Prof) Kalu Okoro. The event was a time of deep reflection, heartfelt testimonies, and gratitude to God for a life that exemplified godliness, peace, and remarkable impact on countless lives.
Apostle Dr. Nkechi Kalu Okoro (Ph.D), wife of the late Archbishop and current presiding leader of the church, led an emotional thanksgiving session during the ceremony. Speaking candidly, she described her late husband as more than just a partner. “He was my confidant and spiritual mentor,” she said. “The legacy he laid for this church goes beyond numbers; it is about creating a space where Christ can truly be experienced on earth.”
She extolled his unwavering dedication to the ministry, which he founded as a beacon of hope and salvation for many. Despite his absence, she assured the congregation of her commitment to preserving his vision for the church’s growth and spiritual vibrancy.
The highlight of the service was the sermon delivered by the Guest Preacher, Arch. Bishop (Elect) Innocent Ukpai, General Overseer of Mighty Hand of God International Ministries. In his moving address, he described the late Arch. Bishop Kalu Okoro as a man of uncommon humility and a steadfast love for Christ.
He said Arch. Bishop Kalu Okoro was ahead of his contemporaries, not because of human effort, but because he dedicated his life to serving God wholeheartedly. Bishop Ukpai said. His ministry was divinely ordained, and even in his absence, his legacy and spirit of service continue to speak volumes.
He also encouraged Apostle Dr. Nkechi Kalu Okoro and the congregation to remain unwavering in their faith. He said Life’s storms will come, but with trust in God, every challenge would be overcome.
The one-year remembrance service was not only a tribute to the memory of a man who left an indelible mark on the lives of many but also a renewal of commitment to the vision he left behind.
As the House of Redemption International Church moves forward under the leadership of Apostle Nkechi Kalu Okoro, the legacy of Arch. Bishop (Prof) Kalu Okoro remains a guiding light, inspiring the congregation to continue their journey of faith and service to humanity.
