Delta State Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has advocated for a robust working relationship between Royal fathers and the three tiers of government in order to mitigate the security challenges bedevilling the nation.
Governor Okowa made the call while playing host to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero who was accompanied by His Majesty, Dr. Benjamin Ikenchukwu, Keagborekuzi I, the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, on a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Exco Chamber, Government House, Asaba.
Our Asaba correspondent Akpomejero Friday reports that Governor Okowa said Royal fathers need to be assigned even greater roles in the governance of this nation because, they have a very important role to play in terms of keeping our people closely knit together.
Governor Okowa pointed out that working closely with Royal fathers will definitely help the nation in solving the problems of insecurity that Nigerians were faced with in the contemporary Nigerian society.
On his part Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero said as traditional institution, they believe that the government cannot be blamed for everything because everyone has a role to play and I believe that with the right leadership, things will get better,” the Emir of Kano said.
On 2023 campaigns, the monarch urged politicians to encourage their followers to be of good behaviour while urging the people to go for what is good in the interest of the nation.
