The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has been trending for the past few days after he warned the governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwoolu, against removal in 2026.
In a video which has now gone viral, the prophet who was among his church congregation asked Governor Babajide Sanwoolu to retrace his steps with his political godfather, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, or risk removal in 2026.
The prophet warned the governor not to listen to hearsay or advice from people asking him to remain stronghearted because they won’t be there for him when the worst happens.
He further stated that if the governor doesn’t retrace his steps as soon as possible, prayers and fasting will not be enough to rescue him when the time comes.
These were his words
“I had said Sanwo-Olu and Tinubu will fight. Sanwoolu’s and Tinubu’s fight hasn’t started; if he isn’t careful, he will be removed. I want to beg Tinubu not to allow them to remove him.
“I’m calling on Sanwo-Olu to reconcile to avoid being disgracefully removed. It’s unfortunate that there are no elderly people in politics; they are all after what they would eat, and they don’t arrange things. If there is no money, they don’t do anything.”
Sanwo-Olu needs to calm down, find a solution between you and your boss. It is not well, once you leave there you would realize people don’t respect you, they are only with you because you are still there. “
“I want to urge you to ignore anyone advising you to be strong-hearted, if you are not careful, they will remove you in 2026. Prayers will not be able to save you then if you don’t retrace your steps.”

Just few days after Primate Ayodele made this prophecy, yesterday Sunday, Governor Babajide Sanwoolu in company of Governor’s advisory council (GAC), the apex political body in Lagos APC, visited President Tinubu to apologize, according to ThisDay newspaper.
Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, who welcomed the president to Lagos, said it was obvious he was unhappy with some persons in the state, especially the governor, and, therefore pleaded for mercy.
Responding, the president, according to multiple sources, said, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven,” assuring everyone in the room that he was no longer angry with anyone, let alone Sanwo-Olu.
It was at this point that Sanwo-Olu and other members of the GAC prostrated to the president in apparent remorse and appeasement.
This is no doubt in acknowledgment of the prophet’s statement and a move to avoid the worst from happening.
Before now, since Tinubu’s arrival in Lagos, He has technically avoided the governor, and this was evident in an outing last week where he resisted a handshake from him. At a later event in Lagos, the governor avoided the gathering and instead, Tinubu acknowledged the deputy governor when he wanted to make reference to Lagos state government.
