The Jigawa State Consumer Protection Committee has destroyed N1.7 million worth of contaminated goods.

The contaminated goods were seized at Hadejia emirate, according to committee head Mallam Farouk Abdallah.

530 bags of fertilizer, 4 bags of rice, 14 bags of wheat, 4 bags of sesame, 7 cartons of insecticide, 1 bag of soy beans, and zobo, according to him, are among the commodities that have been confiscated.

He said that the contaminated commodities were destroyed in accordance with a Hadejia Magistrate court ruling.

Abdallah stated that his group would keep seizing and destroying any allegedly contaminated goods.
