Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Rilwan Disu, has visited Jos, Plateau State, following a deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba that claimed 27 lives and left 19 others injured. Disu assured residents that those responsible will be brought to justice, expressing deep sadness over the incident and reaffirming the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to restore peace and stability.
Over 11 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack, including a person impersonating a soldier. The IGP visited the affected community, hospitals where injured victims are receiving treatment, and met with Plateau State Governor Caleb Muftwang to discuss security measures.
Governor Muftwang commended the police response, thanking Disu for his timely visit and prompt action. He also appealed for more personnel deployment to the state, emphasizing that police presence gives people a sense of safety. The state government is committed to working with the police to restore peace and attract investors.
