40 young people from Nigeria were recently given empowerment by Keystone Bank Limited employees who enrolled them in a digital skills training program.
The recipients, who are university students, National Youth Service Corps volunteers, and recent graduates, received training in digital skills such as site design, development, and marketing. They went through a rigorous 6-week training course led by ADE Digital Media Limited.
The “Keystone Bank Digital Skills Training Program” program was carried out through the bank’s Employees Volunteering Scheme (EVS). The project addressed the current demand for employment creation and the development of the skills of the future. It was based on the bank’s CSR pillar, youth empowerment.
Expressing the importance of digital skills in Nigeria, Izore Bamawo, Divisional Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Keystone Bank, spoke on the need for Nigerians especially tech-savvy millennials and Gen-Zs to acquire a digital skills as it is currently one of the most sought-after skills across the globe.

“In recent years, digital skills have gained a huge level of popularity. Technology has been utilized to provide innovative solutions to everyday problems. As a result, the skill has become lucrative thereby creating wealth and job opportunities for players in the digital/technology ecosystem.”
