Lagos City College, Sabo, Yaba was founded on the 3rd of January, 1953 by Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe as a private school on 34, Commercial Avenue, Sabo, Yaba.
The school was taken over by the administration of former governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande in 1980 and it has become a government School ever since.
The college has produced a great number of renowned citizens and scholars among whom are General Ike Nwachukwu,, Barr. Segun Odubela, Professor Kunle Lawal, Professor O.M Sadiq, Tunji Otun, Alex Ochei, The Fafiyebis, Yours truly, Mike Osemeke, TOKUNBO Folayan, Jude Odenigbo, Segun ALABI, Anthony Okade, Bassey Etim and several old students doing fantastically well in all strata of the Nigerian economy.
