The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 55-year-old man, Shamusideen Oladiti, before the Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court for his alleged involvement in the killing of a dispatch rider and another man, Imam Ramon, in Lagos Island.

Oladiti, who had been in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, was brought to Court 2 of the Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, under tight security.

According to the charge sheet, Oladiti allegedly assaulted Imam Ramon on August 27, 2025, at Lewis Street, Lagos Island, by delivering multiple fist blows that caused grievous harm. Ramon was rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where he later died.

In another incident on September 17, 2025, Oladiti and others still at large were accused of conspiring to commit felony and grievous harm. On that same day, he allegedly attacked another victim, Omale Samuel, a dispatch rider, inflicting severe injuries that led to his death.

The police prosecutor, SP Anthony Iyeye Esq., told the court that the offences contravene Sections 223, 245, and 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015, which stipulate punishment for unlawful assault, conspiracy, and culpable homicide.

Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Akinde, ordered that Oladiti be remanded in custody pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The matter was adjourned until October 28, 2025, for further hearing.

Family members and community representatives of both deceased men were present in court and visibly distraught, calling for justice over the deaths.

The Investigating Police Officer (IPO), ASP Johnson Olumuyiwa, confirmed that the case file would be duplicated and forwarded to the DPP within 30 days for legal advice.
