The Lagos State Police Command has addressed a viral video showing Taskforce officers driving a vehicle against traffic at Ikorodu axis. According to the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, the incident occurred on March 13, 2026, during a routine traffic enforcement patrol.
The driver, identified as Lateef Adeyemo, was intercepted for making a wrongful turn and attempting to evade arrest, causing an accident and obstructing traffic. The police used minimal force to remove him and restore traffic flow.
Adeyemo was charged with four counts, including conduct likely to cause breach of peace and obstruction of public officers. He was remanded in prison custody for failing to meet bail conditions.
The Command urges motorists to obey traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement, and advises against circulating misleading narratives. The police will enforce the law professionally, ensuring safety on Lagos roads.
