The State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Panti Yaba, Lagos, hosted a grand celebration in honour of 15 distinguished police officers who retired after over three decades of selfless service.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Dayo Akinbisehin, praised the retirees’ discipline, integrity, courage, and dedication to national security. Lagos State Police Commissioner, Olohundare Jimoh, approved the police band to perform at the event, acknowledging the retirees’ impact and efforts.
The retirees expressed gratitude for their safe landing after 35 years of meritorious service. CSP Charles Akinrosoye (Rtd) stressed the need for continuous training and adequate government funding for the police, considering today’s digital era.
Yaba LCDA Chairman, Bayo Adefuye, described the retirees as “pillars of discipline and guardians of public trust,” urging them to bring their experience into community policing.
The event drew eminent personalities, senior police officers, and captains of industry, with gifts presented to the retirees as a mark of respect. The evening concluded with a colourful celebration and dancing in honour of the celebrants.
