Lagos residents and motorists around the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja corridor are advised to brace up for temporary traffic adjustments this weekend as the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters Logistics Command holds its 10km Walk/Jog Exercise on Saturday October 18th, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Headquarters Logistics Command, Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun, the NAF disclosed that the exercise forms part of its continuous efforts to promote the physical fitness, mental alertness and operational readiness of its personnel. The early-morning activity is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. and end by 8:00 a.m., during which sections of the Airport Road and adjoining routes between Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MMA2) and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic.
Commuters are therefore encouraged to plan their movements ahead of time and explore alternative routes. Security and traffic control officers from the NAF and other supporting agencies will be strategically positioned along the route to ensure public safety and a seamless flow of movement.
The statement further assured that normal traffic will resume immediately after the exercise and that all necessary logistics have been put in place for a safe and well-coordinated fitness event. Squadron Leader Ologun expressed the Command’s appreciation to the public for their understanding and cooperation, noting that such fitness drills are integral to maintaining a healthy and responsive Air Force.
