As part of activities to commemorate the Year 2025 Public Service Week, the Lagos State Government today honoured 289 Officers with the Outstanding Officers’ Award. The recipients of the award cut
across all MDAs in the Mainstream, Local Government and Local Council
Development Areas in recognition of their dedication, professionalism and exemplary service.
This year’s Outstanding Officers include 99 Senior Officers and
78 Junior Officers selected from the Mainstream and 112 Officers from the
Local Government and Local Council Development Areas by the State Government.
The award ceremony, held on Wednesday 8th October 2025, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, brought together top government officials, civil servants and dignitaries to celebrate excellence within the state’s workforce. The event forms part of the state government’s commitment to encouraging diligence, innovation and accountability across all ministries and agencies.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, congratulated the proud recipients of the
Outstanding Officers Awards and assured them that the State
Government fully appreciates their numerous contributions to the
development of the State. He urged them not to rest on their oars
but rather continue to exhibit the high sense of responsibility, commitment
to duty and unalloyed loyalty which are the qualities and values for which
they received the awards.
Speaking with one of the recipients of the award for outstanding Officers’ (Senior Category) Samson Adebayo, Director of Public Affairs, Office of Deputy Governor, he expressed deep appreciation to the Lagos State Government for the recognition, dedicating the honour to his team and colleagues. He noted that the award would further inspire him to continue serving the state with greater zeal and commitment.
Adebayo, known for his remarkable professionalism and commitment to upholding the ideals of public communication, has consistently projected the image of the Deputy Governor’s Office with clarity and integrity. His leadership in managing media relations and ensuring timely dissemination of accurate information has earned him widespread respect among peers and journalists alike.
The Outstanding Officers’ Award is an annual recognition designed to spotlight exceptional public servants who demonstrate excellence, integrity and dedication to duty. Through such initiatives, the Lagos State Government continues to reinforce a culture of meritocracy and motivation within the civil service.
