The grounds of Lily Legends Sports Academy in Ajao Estate were alive with vibrant music, entertainment, and joy as the Academy held its much-anticipated end-of-year party. The event, a culmination of a year filled with remarkable achievements, was an opportunity to reward and showcase the exceptional talents nurtured within the Academy.
Speaking at the event, Amarachi Lilian Eze-Abasi, the CEO/MD of Lily Legends Sports Academy and an accomplished ex-international football player, lauded the efforts of her young proteges, describing them as “laudable and worth emulating.”
Highlighting the Academy’s accomplishments, Eze-Abasi proudly enumerated the milestones achieved in 2024. Among the most notable were the exceptional performances of the Academy’s martial arts team, the Lily Kings, who bagged an impressive 10 gold, 7 silver, and 13 bronze medals earlier this year at the National Stadium.
On the football front, the Academy celebrated a major breakthrough as eight students secured placements with football clubs in Portugal—a testament to the Academy’s unwavering commitment to developing world-class athletes.
“We are not just nurturing athletes; we are shaping stars whose talents will take them to great heights, whether or not we receive support or partnerships from the government,” Eze-Abasi said.
The end-of-year celebration was not only a reward for the students’ hard work but also a platform to introduce their budding talents to a larger audience. Guests were treated to exhilarating performances, including martial arts demonstrations and football showcases, underscoring the Academy’s ethos of excellence in sports and character building.
Looking ahead, Eze-Abasi shared her vision for the Academy’s future, which includes introducing foreign language classes and developing a robust academic curriculum. The aim, she said, is to foster a well-rounded education that balances sports and academics, ensuring that students excel both on and off the field.
As Lily Legends Sports Academy continues to make waves in the sports world, it remains a beacon of hope and inspiration for young athletes, proving that with determination, discipline, and guidance, greatness is attainable.
