President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Deputy Governor, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, have called on Nigerians to rise above religious, political, and ideological differences and promote unity and peace. The duo made the appeal at the Dodan Barracks praying ground in Ikoyi, Lagos, during Eid Mubarak prayers.
The President emphasized that love, compassion, and generosity shown during Ramadan should be reflected in daily lives, and urged citizens to pray for national progress and uphold goodwill towards one another. He stressed that security is a shared responsibility and urged vigilance, saying suspicious activities should be reported promptly.
Deputy Governor Hamzat advocated for unity, urging Nigerians to love one another beyond religious, ethnic, and cultural boundaries, emphasizing that diversity should unite, not divide.
Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla, stated that Ramadan is about showing love, empathy, and care, urging Muslims to extend these values beyond the fasting period.
