A man in Adamawa State was given the death penalty for murdering his girlfriend and removing body parts for a purported N10 million reward from a buyer.
Abubakar Mohammed was given a death by hanging verdict by the Adamawa State High Court for killing Christiana Augustine and dismembering her by chopping off her breast and severing her tongue.
According to information acquired on Wednesday, Abubakar—a father of seven who was previously a resident of Jauro Tukur village in the Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State—moved to Shagari Phase II, Yola South LGA of Adamawa State in pursuit of employment.
Along the way, he fell in love with Christiana and started selling water.
A Yola resident by the name of Buhari Mohammed, who had also come into contact with him over time, allegedly gave him a tip about a man who had expressed interest in purchasing eyeballs for N10 million.
According to reports, Abubakar considered his options and decided on Christiana, his girlfriend, as the best place to obtain it.
The story’s opening scene takes place on January 26, 2019, when Abubakar went to Christiana’s house to speak with her and persuade her to meet him where they used to meet for their passionate adventure.
Abubakar took out his knife, sliced Christiana’s throat, and extracted one of her eyeballs while injuring the other one while attempting to remove it when she showed up at the unfinished structure where they had previously met.

The next day, the prisoner brought the eyeballs before Buhari, who allegedly showed shock and shooed Abubakar away with the eyes.
The next day, when Christiana’s lifeless body was discovered within the unfinished building, Abubakar was tracked down and apprehended, leading to his arrest, arraignment, and prosecution.
At the most recent case hearing on Tuesday, the Adamawa State High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice Bulila Ladokiya Ikaro, punished the convicted defendant for culpable homicide after he was tried and found guilty of having the body parts.
