The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has pledged stronger collaboration with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) to redirect Nigerian youths away from crime, cultism and drug abuse.
A delegation led by Senator Comrade Oladimeji Uthman, representing NANS President Comrade Olushola Oladoja (GCNS), was received at the POCACOV headquarters in Abuja by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olabisi Okuwobi.
The student leaders applauded POCACOV’s role in crime prevention and youth sensitization, while affirming their readiness to partner on initiatives that promote education, empowerment and civic responsibility.
In recognition of her commitment to community policing and youth engagement, ACP Okuwobi was decorated as an Anti-Social Vices Ambassador by the delegation.
ACP Okuwobi emphasized that POCACOV remains a driver of the Inspector-General of Police,IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s vision of policing through prevention policing for the people; stressing community partnership, education and gender inclusion as key strategies for safer communities.
The visit signals a new phase of synergy between NANS and POCACOV, aimed at fostering resilience, responsibility and leadership among Nigerian youths.
