Naval Engineering Services Limited (NESL) marked a significant milestone today, October 22, 2024, with the official handover of leadership from Rear Admiral Baratuaipri Iyalla to Rear Admiral Kohath Gyelpanyi Levi.
The historic ceremony took place at NESL’s headquarters in Moloney, Lagos, and symbolized the continuation of the company’s commitment to excellence and operational stability within the Nigerian Navy.
Rear Admiral Iyalla, who has served as Managing Director of NESL since February 27, 2024, leaves behind a legacy of remarkable achievements. Under his leadership as the 6th MD, NESL has experienced impressive growth, expanding its influence through strategic alliances with prominent commercial partners such as Regency International Overseas Limited, Infinity Paints Limited, and Prime Atlantic Global Engineering Services (PAGES). These partnerships, along with innovative programs like Painting Training and Navigating Commercial Waters, further strengthened the skill set of Nigerian Navy personnel and enhanced the company’s operational reach. He also introduced a groundbreaking marketing strategy workshop, setting the stage for future commercial successes.
In his inaugural address, Rear Admiral Levi praised the efforts of his predecessor and urged NESL officers and staff to continue their high standard of performance. He expressed his commitment to building on the firm foundation laid by Rear Admiral Iyalla, ensuring the company remains a leading force in naval engineering and related services. Rear Admiral Levi’s vision is focused on enhancing NESL’s capabilities and deepening its engagement with industry stakeholders.
