The Director of Navy Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Mr. Joel Adeoye, on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, visited the Headquarters Eastern Naval Command in Calabar, accompanied by Deputy Director Navy Logistics, Mr. Kola Aragbaye.
Received by the Flag Officer Commanding, Rear Admiral K. C. Ezete, and senior officers, Mr. Adeoye was briefed on the Command’s operations and facilities. He highlighted the need to improve personnel welfare in accommodation, transportation and healthcare, while also noting challenges such as voluntary retirements, inadequate equipment and budgetary constraints.
The Director commended the Chief of the Naval Staff for ongoing infrastructure projects and assured the Command of the Ministry’s support in addressing critical needs. Rear Admiral Ezete, in response, appreciated the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing naval capacity.
The visit ended with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph.
