The Nigerian Navy Military School, Ikot Ntuen, on Saturday, 16th August 2025, hosted a colourful Passing Out Parade for its third batch of Young Sailor graduands. The event, held at the school’s parade ground, marked a proud moment in the academic and military journey of the graduating class.

The ceremony was graced by top dignitaries, including the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Akwa Ibom State, Professor Ubong Essien Umoh, who represented the state governor as Special Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were Rear Admiral GSM Aligwe, Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters, representing the Chief of Naval Staff; the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command; the Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) JUBILEE; the Director of Naval Education and several distinguished guests.

In his goodwill message, Professor Umoh congratulated the young sailors and charged them to uphold discipline, patriotism and excellence as ambassadors of both the school and Akwa Ibom State. He commended the Commandant and staff of the institution for their commitment to nurturing well-rounded future leaders.

The day’s highlights included the commissioning of a newly constructed storey building accommodation for officers donated by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, a spirited march past, a silent drill display, an unarmed combat display and the presentation of awards to outstanding graduands. The champion squadron also proudly received the coveted champions banner.

The parade concluded with the filing out of the graduating young sailors, followed by a group photograph and a reception in their honour which was a fitting close to a memorable day of pride, celebration and achievement.
