In a decisive show of strength and tactical precision, the Nigerian Navy has successfully repelled a coordinated attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on its Naval Base in the Lake Chad region of Borno State.
The assault, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, 18th June 2025, at approximately 2:00 am, was aimed at sabotaging critical military infrastructure, including newly acquired swamp buggies procured by the Borno State Government to enhance waterways clearance operations in the Lake Chad Basin.
However, the attackers met stiff resistance from naval personnel stationed at the base, who swiftly engaged the insurgents. Reinforcements from the land and air components of Operation HADIN KAI provided additional firepower, effectively overwhelming the terrorists and neutralizing many in the process.
The attempted destruction of vital military assets was completely foiled by the coordination, combat strategy, and the professionalism of The Nigerian forces.
This latest victory reinforces the Nigerian Navy’s unwavering resolve to defend the country’s territorial waters and secure the Northeast from insurgent threats. The operation also highlights the effectiveness of joint force collaboration under Operation HADIN KAI in the ongoing war against terrorism.
Authorities have confirmed that no military assets were lost in the attack, and clearance operations are ongoing in the surrounding areas to prevent future incursions.
