The Ogun State Police Command has clarified that no student was detained at the Oru-Ijebu Police Division, contrary to claims made by a group of students who mobilized to the station on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The students became agitated and breached the station gate, throwing stones and bottles, and threatening police personnel and property.
According to the police, reinforcements were called, and teargas was used to disperse the crowd. Normalcy has since been restored. The Command urges the public, especially students, to address grievances through lawful and peaceful channels, reaffirming its commitment to professionalism and public safety.
