Peter Obi, the chairman of the Labour Party, has expressed his sorrow over the passing of Mallam Lawal Garba, one of the party’s Kaduna State Zonal Chairmen.
On Monday, Garba perished in a fatal car accident on the Kaduna–Zaria highway.
On Monday, he was returning from the party’s meeting with Northern stakeholders in Kaduna’s Arewa House.
In response, Peter Obi tweeted on Tuesday that he was shocked by his passing and wished for his soul to find peace.

“I’m horrified to hear that Mallam Lawal Garba passed away suddenly and tragically last night in a fatal car accident. At the interactive session at Arewa House, Mallam Garba was present.
His passing leaves his family, the Kaduna State Labor Party family, and the general populace with a great loss.
“I pray for his soul’s eternal peace and that God Almighty will give his family the strength to endure this immeasurable loss.”
