Umar Mamman Sanda, the commissioner of the Bauchi State Police, has paraded suspects involved in a variety of criminal activities.

CP Sanda stated to reporters on Tuesday at the state command headquarters that a 20-year-old guy named Abubakar Isah had been detained on September 16,2022.

According to him, the suspect was detained for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition in Tashan Daudu Soro via Ganjuwa LGA at Gobirawa axis.

The CP lists N8,466,000 in cash, one SMG rifle with 92 live rounds, one SMG OFN rifle with an empty magazine, and one 7.62mm calibre of live ammo as exhibits found on the suspect.

The CP added that there are also eight other phone types, an MP3, a Honda motorcycle, and a cutlass.

He added that during that time, the police in Bauchi found one fake AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine, two Dane guns, a pump action JOJEFF MAGNUM, a single barrel pistol, and a fake revolver during a mop-up operation.

The police commissioner added that Hussaini Salisu, another alleged kidnapper, was also detained following a gunfight with a patrol squad of police officers.

According to him, a patrol squad from the Maina-maji Divisional Police Headquarters, working with a vigilante group, stormed a suspected kidnappers’ den on September 7, 2022, at around 1600 hours.

According to the CP, when the police arrived, the kidnappers opened fire on them. When the police returned fire, two of the kidnappers were killed there, and one was taken into custody.

The CP reported that the two suspects, Muhammadu Lawali, 25, and Dangi, whose last name is unknown, were all neutralised in the Gobiya, Mundu villages of Bogoro, and Dangi LGAs of Bauchi and Plateau states.

One AK-47 gun and 29 live rounds of ammunition were among the exhibits CP Sanda claimed to have seized from their lair.

In order to adequately maintain peace and security in the state, the police force has not been resting on its laurels, according to the police commissioner.
