The publisher and editor-in-chief of RazorNews Publications, Mr. Odita Sunday has lauded Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga,(SP), the public relations officer of the Anambra Police Command for his high sense of professionalism in the discharge of his duties.
Sunday, made the commendation on Tuesday in Awka, when he paid an official visit to Ikenga in his office to access the level of preparations for the November 8 governorship elections in the state.
The RazorNews boss described Ikenga as an accomplished and distinguished police officer, whose dedication to duty speaks volume of his professional integrity and commitment to public service.
Odita paid glowing tribute to Ikenga’s accomplishment in building public confidence and fostering healthy communication between the command and the Anambra people.
He said his visit to the command was to explore strategic working collaborations and also get first-hand information on the command’s preparedness and readiness to ensure adequate security for the elections.
The multiple award-winning media personality urged Ikenga to keep the flag flying in his unwavering commitment to reposition and redefine the image of the police in Anambra state.
Responding, SP Ikenga expressed the command’s profound appreciation to Odita, and the RazorNews family for the publication’s support and partnership in projecting the activities of the police in Anambra with unbiased and comprehensive reportage.
He described the media in Nigeria as a formidable and reliable partner in progress in efforts of the Nigeria Police in maintaining law and order and protecting lives and properties of the citizens.
Ikenga used the medium to inform the RazorNews boss that adequate preparation has been put in place to.ensure the success of the Nov. 8 governorship elections in Anambra.
According to him, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu has over the past two weeks embarked on security advocacy meeting with critical stakeholders saddled with task of success of the election.
He listed some of these stakeholders to include traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth leaders and other opinion leaders who he described as critical in achieving a peaceful election due to their influence on their followers.
He disclosed there has been lots of.preparations on the part of police operatives in the state in collaboration with sister agencies to ensure a hitch-free election.
“One unique thing about this coming Anambra election is that is an off-season election that is to say that it is not a coming in a general election across the country so, we will be having full support and enough personnel at hand.
“Let me use this medium to express our thankfulness to the Inspector of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun who had graciously approved additional deployment of personnel from other states to assist the police in Anambra.
“So, we can say that with additional deployment of personnel, you will.agree with me that adequate security will be very much guaranteed,” Ikenga stated.
The command image maker also disclosed that the leadership of the police command in the state has equally toured the eight police area command in the state, that covers not less than fifty-four divisions in the state to meet with the personnel.
He added that command has also carried out massive offensive operations as ordered by the state police boss to make sure that of the identified crime flashpoints are proactively taking care of before, during and after the elections.
“For us at the Anambra Command, it is not all about the number of personnel we have, but about the strategic deployment we are doing to ensure no place, community and town is left behind in this period of elections.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation a commemoration plaque and copies of the latest edition of RazorNews magazine to SP Ikenga by Mr. Odita, who was represented at the ceremony by Mr. Valentine Utulu.
