The Sango Ota Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to public safety with a strategic show of force aimed at deterring crime and maintaining order during and after the Eid celebrations. In a well coordinated operation, the Command partnered with multiple security and safety agencies, including Amotekun, Vigilante Corps, So-Safe Corps, the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and local government health officials.
Before the commencement of the joint security operation, the Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Shola Oladele, led her officers in a proactive traffic decongestion exercise. This early morning effort addressed the persistent gridlock from the Under-Bridge axis through to the Toll Gate corridor. The operation, which lasted from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., involved relocating roadside traders back to their designated shops, thereby easing vehicular flow and improving access for both emergency responders and security services.
Immediately following the traffic management initiative, the Area Command launched a coordinated show of force. The exercise featured a wide deployment of personnel from all participating agencies operating in a united front. Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and their teams under the Sango Ota Area Command worked alongside allied security units, demonstrating operational synergy and a strong tactical presence across strategic locations in Ota.
This operation was not only intended to deter criminal elements but also to reassure the public of the readiness and responsiveness of security agencies. The deployment of multi-agency teams under a unified command structure underscored the depth of inter-agency collaboration critical to maintaining stability in Ogun State, especially during high risk periods.
With heightened visibility, strategic positioning, and a cohesive security front, the Sango Ota Area Command has effectively set the stage for a peaceful Eid celebration and a secure post festive atmosphere.
