The Committees on Petroleum and Gas in the Nigerian Senate have been asked to ensure the prompt implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act, with a six months timeline handed to them to ensure revenue from petroleum becomes more visible.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan made this call Wednesday at an event to mark his 63rd birthday.
The Senate President said the National Assembly put in so much effort to ensure passage of the piece of legislation and as such cannot afford to have it become underutilized.
Lawan said activities of the ninth National Assembly has brought stability to the economy and the polity.
