The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has addressed the confusion surrounding a viral photo depicting an incident involving an assault on one of its officers. The image, which has sparked debate and misinformation online, requires clarification to set the facts straight.
According to a statement released by the FRSC Lagos Sector Command through its’ Public Education Officer,

the widely circulated photo, two individuals are visible: the offender responsible for the assault and a police officer engaged in documenting the incident. Contrary to rumors, the police officer in the image is not connected to the offense. Her role was to lawfully record the details of the case, ensuring due process is followed.
FRSC has reiterated that the offender, who appears behind bars in the image, is being held accountable for the assault. The organization also emphasized that the police officer was simply fulfilling her professional duty and was not involved in any wrongdoing.
The FRSC has urged the public to refrain from spreading misinformation and instead allow the legal process to unfold. The Corps remains committed to the safety and dignity of its personnel as they work tirelessly to ensure safer roads and better enforcement of traffic laws.
