The governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has acknowledged and denounced the killing of troops in Umunze.
According to a statement from Soludo’s chief press secretary, Christian Aburime, the soldiers were ambushed in Umunze while on a regular patrol by unnamed gunmen.
We strongly condemn this evil and heartless attack, Soludo stated. This act’s offenders must make amends. Those that attacked Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the rest will not be allowed to rest on their laurels. There will be no place for them to hide at all.

“Our actions moving forward will be evident, and these individuals will undoubtedly pay a price for this vile and abhorrent attack,”
The Governor urged Anambra people to remain calm and law-abiding as the security agencies are on top of the situation.
