Mr Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has called on Anambra people to disregard two videos being circulated in the social media.
In one of the videos, some people were chanting anti All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and in another, the governor was allegedly quoted as saying that he would not execute development projects in communities which his party did not win on March 18.
Aburime dismissed the videos as fake, heavily doctored and handiwork of mischievous element who were becoming threatened by the growing profile of the Soludo administration.
He said the anti APGA video was on an old clip which ‘was exhumed from antiquity’ just to incite the people against the government as it did not happen during the current administration.
“Our attention has been drawn to the videos, we would have ignored them but it is important to set the records straight.
“The so-called anti APGA video is not a recent video, it was recorded during a misunderstanding between family members, and these persons have long made peace and are now an integral components of the party.
“On the one where Mr Governor was allegedly quoted as saying that people who did not vote APGA will not get projects, nothing can be farther from the truth.
“Prof. Soludo is a pure democrat who respects the wishes of the people and as governor is the father of all, every community whether they vote APGA or not is his constituency, he has assured that every part of the state will get a fair share of projects within available resources.
“The governor did not say it and he could not have made such public statement which has been heavily ‘doctored’ to incite people against Mr Governor by some mischief makers. It is a wicked propagation of lies from the pit of hell by people who are threatened by the achievements of this government and sadly, those that don’t wish Anambra well,” he said.
Aburime said the campaign of calumny was part of the calculated attempts to demarket APGA which had delivered good governance to Anambra since 2006.
He urged the Anambra electorate to disregard the distractions and come out on March 18 and vote and return all APGA candidates.
In a related development, Dr Christian Madubuko, a former Commissioner in Anambra said the anti APGA video, though old, was borne out of maltreatment meted to him but has been addressed by Soludo’s government.
Madubuko said it should be disregarded and pleaded that everyone should join hands in rebuilding Anambra.
According to him, I am now fully back to the APGA family, we have no other State to call our own except Anambra.
“I equally urge our people to support the Government and vote massively for all APGA House of Assembly candidates in the coming national election slated for 18 March.
“I am optimistic that the Government will do better and improve more on infrastructural development across the State if APGA wins majority seats in the House of Assembly Elections,” he said.
