Terrorists kill police officer, set fire to his car, kidnap others in Katsina

Terrorists assassinated a Police Inspector, Idris Musa, in the early hours of Monday.

Terrorists who had blocked the Katsina-Jibia road set fire to the officer’s car.

Idris Musa, the late, was said to be on his way to work when he was ambushed and killed by terrorists.

The assailants also kidnapped a number of passengers during the operation in Makera, which is a few kilometres from Katsina State’s capital.

“Around 8:00 a.m., the assailants blocked the highway and began shooting sporadically towards an oncoming commercial bus loaded with passengers.” “They burned his car after ambushing and killing the cop,” an eyewitness said.
The spokesman of the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the report to newsmen, saying the deceased police officer made an unsuccessful attempt to repel the terrorists before being killed in an ambush by hoodlums who shot him at close range, resulting in his death.

“In the early hours of Monday, Police Inspector Idris Musa was on his way from Jibia to Katsina for his routine assignment when he came across the bandits who mounted a road block along Makera community.”

“They killed him on the spot and set fire to his car.” “They also kidnapped many passengers who boarded commercial vehicles from Jibia Local Government to Katsina town for their daily business,” he revealed.
