At the Abdulsalam Abubakar General Hospital in Gulu, Lapai local government area of Niger State, terrorists have killed two people and abducted 20 medical personnel.
The nation learned that on Tuesday at around two in the morning, terrorists attacked the hospital, opened fire, and operated without restriction.

Among those taken hostage are the head of clinical services, the head of haematology, the wife and daughters of the head of nursing, as well as the wife and daughter of the chief pharmacist.

It was discovered that the majority of the hospital’s workers and their families lived there.

One of the local governments in Lapai has been most severely impacted by terrorism in the State.

Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, the Governor of Niger, has ordered the Joint Security Taskforce to investigate measures to stop the ongoing armed banditry, kidnappings, and heinous attacks on villages in the Lapai Local Government Area.

The attack on the Gulu General Hospital was regarded as unfortunate by the Governor as being insensitive, inhumane, and condemnable.

While celebrating and consolidating the accomplishments thus far achieved in other afflicted areas, he added, “We are gravely concerned about the recent rise in armed banditry and kidnappings in Gulu communities. However, as a responsible administration we’ll not rest on our oars until we triumph against evil.”

In order to defeat the bandits and sanitise the area, the Governor declared that the State Government is already working with and assisting the Joint Security Apparatus.
