The Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has recorded significant successes in foiling multiple terrorist attacks and disrupting insurgent logistics networks in the North East region between March 28 and 30, 2026.
According to reports, troops deployed at Damboa thwarted a planned Boko Haram/ISWAP attack after detecting terrorists’ movement through surveillance systems. The troops engaged the insurgents, forcing them to withdraw in disarray. Similarly, troops repelled attempted attacks on farmers and communities in Gwoza and Askira Uba Local Government Areas of Borno State, forcing the insurgents to flee towards the Mandara Mountains and adjoining areas.
In a major breakthrough, troops uncovered and safely detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted along the Goniri-Ngamdu axis, intended to target troops and commuters. The troops also seized two truckloads of suspected terrorist logistics supplies, including medical drugs, motorcycle parts, and mosquito nets, along the Maiduguri-Mafa road.
The operation led to the arrest of several suspects, including Mohammed Adamu, a 26-year-old logistics supplier, and 13 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and collaborators in Gubio. A suspected member of JAS/ISWAP terrorist group, Abubakar Ali, alias “Saina,” was also arrested at Kilo Papa checkpoint while transiting to Maiduguri.
The Military High Command has commended the troops for their resilience, vigilance, and professional conduct, urging them to sustain the operational tempo to clear and deny terrorists freedom of action across the theatre of operations.
