Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have foiled Boko Haram’s attempt to disrupt Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in Ngoshe and Gwoza areas of Borno State.

The terrorists had spread false claims of plans to overrun Ngoshe and conduct Sallah prayers at the Central Mosque, aiming to create panic.

However, troops’ proactive response, supported by aerial surveillance and vigilant residents, disrupted the plot, neutralizing several insurgents.

Residents celebrated Eid peacefully, with troops joining worshippers at the Ngoshe Central Mosque.

The Chief of Army Staff has commended the local populace’s resilience and cooperation, urging the public to disregard terrorist propaganda.

Troops will continue aggressive operations to consolidate gains and ensure peace in the North East.
