The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) results for private candidates, 2026 – First Series. The examination took place from January 28 to February 14, 2026, with 10,480 candidates sitting the exam at 166 centers across the country.
According to WAEC, 8,418 candidates (80.32%) have their results fully processed and released, while 2,062 candidates (19.68%) have some subjects still being processed due to errors. The results show that 3,429 candidates (32.72%) obtained credit and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
The breakdown of candidates’ performance includes:
– *Credit and Above in 5 Subjects (with or without English and Maths)*: 4,598 candidates (43.87%)
– *Credit and Above in 5 Subjects (including English and Maths)*: 3,429 candidates (32.72%)
– *Male Candidates*: 1,847 (53.86%)
– *Female Candidates*: 1,582 (46.14%)
WAEC has also withheld results of 75 candidates (0.72%) due to examination malpractice.
